Description
Experience the outstanding Kawai K200 at Cambridge Pianoforte’s showroom – where over 50 years of expertise meets Kawai’s century of piano craftsmanship. As one of the UK’s longest-serving Kawai agents, we’re proud to keep this exceptional instrument in stock for you to play and compare.
The Millennium III Action Revolution
At the heart of the K200 lies Kawai’s groundbreaking Millennium III action – a technological masterpiece that transforms your playing experience. This revolutionary action features components made from ABS-Carbon, an advanced composite material created by infusing carbon fibre into Kawai’s renowned ABS Styran.
ABS-Carbon is incredibly sturdy and rigid, allowing the creation of action parts that are lighter without sacrificing strength. The result? A stronger, faster action that offers more power, better control, and greater stability than conventional all-wood actions.
What does this mean for you? The Millennium III action responds instantly to every nuance of your touch, from the gentlest pianissimo to the most demanding fortissimo passages. Whether you’re practising scales, mastering complex repertoire, or expressing yourself through improvisation, the K200’s action gives you the precision and responsiveness that serious playing demands – at any level.
Engineered for Superior Sound
The Kawai K200’s impressive tonal qualities stem from intelligent acoustic engineering. The solid spruce soundboard – covering an expansive 1.32m² – is carefully tapered from bass to treble range, optimising resonance and projection across the entire sound spectrum. This sophisticated design ensures clarity in the treble, warmth in the midrange, and depth in the bass registers.
With a maximum sounding string length of 1,157mm, the K200 achieves remarkable tonal richness for an instrument of its compact 114cm height. Ten soundboard ribs and four back posts provide optimal structural support, ensuring long-term tuning stability and consistent tonal quality throughout the piano’s lifetime.
The result is the characteristically warm, slightly mellower tone that Kawai instruments are celebrated for – particularly favoured by European musicians for its musical expressiveness and tonal beauty.
Thoughtful Design for Modern Living
The K200 exemplifies intelligent design, combining professional specifications with practical considerations for contemporary homes. At 114cm tall, this piano fits comfortably in modern living spaces whilst delivering the sound projection typically associated with taller instruments.
Distinctive features include:
- Generous 100cm music desk providing ample space for scores and sheet music
- Soft-close key cover for safety and longevity
- Traditional single caster design for stability and ease of positioning
- Three pedals with tone spreader under the keyboard for enhanced tonal control
- Reinforced keyboard bed ensuring lasting structural integrity
Available in an elegant range of finishes – including polished ebony, polished white, polished mahogany, satin dark walnut, and polished red – with options for silver hardware to complement your interior aesthetic.
The Perfect Choice for Growing Musicians

Its combination of professional action, superior tonal qualities, and robust construction means this piano will grow with you, supporting musical development from elementary grades through to advanced repertoire.
